Silverton Sunsets Music Festival
The inaugural Silverton Sunsets music Festival to be held the weekend of the 24th February
The Silverton Sunsets Music Festival, featuring a line up of Australian artists will be set in the most iconic setting with the Australian outback as the backdrop. To support this inaugural event The Lodge Outback Motel is offering $5 off nightly stays, when booking through our website.
This inaugural Sunset festival follows last year’s hugely successful month of country music at the Silverton Hotel. It is great news that the owners Peter and Patsy Price together with musicians Catherine Britt & James Beverley have decided to host a whole weekend of country music.
It will be a great line up of musical talent
The festival starts Friday night with the Bushwackers performing an ‘Outback Bush Dance’, followed by a selection of songwriters at the Old Church Saturday morning.
From 12noon the main stage will be a buzz with a line up of well-known country musicians such as: Sharna Burcher, Raechel Whitchurch, Bill Chambers, John Williamson and Catherine Britt herself. Sunday will be the day of recovery with Rob Imeson & the Family Tree.
The iconic host location
The Silverton Hotel has since 1884 been a regular watering hole for locals, travellers and Broken Hillians. Located only 25 k’s from Broken Hill, the Silverton Hotel and its iconic location, is well known from being featured in many TV and films series such as Mad Max & Wake in Fright.
Silverton is also home to a number of ART Galleries and historic attractions that would be worth visiting during the event. Read our blogpost about iconic places of Broken Hill and Silverton.
